Powder Bulk Engineering magazine invited CAMCORP to contribute an article about design, maintenance, and installation basics for pulse jet dust collectors. Dale Schwagerman, OEM sales manager at CAMCORP takes readers through installation tips and troubleshooting basics to help them keep their facility’s dust collection systems operating efficiently. Schwagerman, has spent nearly 30 years designing dust collection equipment and often helps customers with common installation mishaps with their equipment such as: improper filter media installation, dirty compressed air pipes, leaks due to improper sealing around modules, joints, and bolt holes.
“While these tips can help, a scheduled preventative maintenance program is always the best plan to help eliminate the need to troubleshoot problems in your dust collection system,” says Schwagerman. “When properly set up, dust collection systems can run for many years.” He also adds that if a pulse jet dust collection system that has been operating effectively over time suddenly develops a problem, Schwagerman recommends asking yourself ‘what has changed’?
